The new look of grace.

Many thanks to my brother-in-law, Jerry, for my awesome new look!  Jerry did an amazing job on mine and Ginger’s blogs.  He truly reflected who we are.  If I were a blog, this is what I’d look like.  Jerry, you make us look good! ;)

I hope you all enjoy the new look.  Please leave a comment and let us know.

And stay tuned for giveaways as we celebrate our one year Blogaversaries.

Coming up…  at a blog near you…

Speaking her mind.

Post-Its surround my computer armoir.  I have to-do lists for the day, week and possibly even season.  I have a list of posts that I need to catch up on.  But they will take more thought and energy than I have.

So tonight, I’ll share the words of wisdom from the mouth of Sophie.  In no particular order.

One day after Sophie’s nap…

Me:  Do you want to take off your Pull-up and go put on your big girl panties?

Sophie:  (scowling)  NO!  I wanna’ wake up some!

After picking her up from her church class one Sunday…

Sophie:  Jesus KICKED me!

Collective thoughts of other members in car:  HUHHHH?

Today at my friend’s re-sale shop while talking with a new customer…

Sophie:  MOM!  Stop talking to that lady!  Talk to me.  (This said from behind the counter while she sat on a stool like she owned the place.)

Me:  (Said to customer in between muffled laughter.)  I’m so sorry.  (Then to Sophie.)  Sophie, that’s rude!  (Giggle, giggle.)

Sophie: (Continues to act as though she’s engaged in our conversation.)  …And then I just play volleyball with Courtney.  And one time…when I was three years old (uh, you’re two and a half), when I was at Pri-School (um, that’s Pre-School, and you haven’t started yet..but continue with your rambling)…blah, blah, blah, blah… BURP!  I BURPED.

I’m so proud.

Tonight, sitting on the couch…

Sophie was being mean to Cammie.

Me:  Sophie, STOP being mean!  Be ye kind!

Sophie:  (Through clenched teeth.)  I’M A HAPPY PERSON!

Cammie:  She’s been saying that all day.

Me:  Through clenched teeth?

And now I’ll add that the be ye kind is indeed an attempt at teaching Scripture memorization.  Her first Scripture learned:  Children, obey your parents.

Now we just have to get the application down.  It’s a start.

I’d also like to add that she really is learning a lot in church.  And she LOVES Worship.  LOVES, LOVES to Worship.  However, she did say in the car the other day that Jesus picks his boogers.

We’re working on it.

Really, Matt Lauer, REALLY?

Really, Matt?  Really?

I just happened to catch a few minutes of TheToday Show this morning.  And for the record I will add that it is my LAST choice of morning shows.  I was flipping through the channels when I caught this morning’s segment with Carrie Prejean, the Miss USA First Runner Up.

After sitting through yet another run through of the recent clips surrounding this controversy, Matt welcomed Carrie back on the show, read a recent comment from the Director of the Miss CA USA Pageant  and echoed their words that “this is such a polarizing issue”.  He questioned her decision to speak out on this issue.

Her platform is the Special Olympics.  Apparently she is being attacked for veering from her agenda.

I just have one question.

WHY isn’t anyone (INCLUDING YOU, Matt Lauer) asking  PEREZ HILTON why HE insisted on asking “such a polarizing question”?  And WHY would anyone expect LESS than her answering this question truthfully?

The heat is on, Christians!  The heat is on!

Thank you, again, Carrie Prejean, for your voice for Truth!

A Line In The Sand

I’m so glad that Joe and I caught the last half of The Miss USA Pageant last weekend.

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, answered Perez Hilton’s question regarding same-sex marriage with unwavering conviction.  Sister, that answer may have cost you the crown for Miss USA 2009, but there is a greater crown laid up for you!

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  2 Timothy 4:8 KJV

Carrie Prejean drew a line in the sand.  As Christians, we all need to draw those clear lines and refuse to compromise the Word of Truth.

I recently found this awesome post at Quail and Manna by a local blogger that I happened to stumble upon over the weekend.  Her name is Jennifer and she can also be found at More Than Just Adam’s Rib.  I hope you’ll take a moment to check her out.  Her recent post is a call for us to take a stand.

Let’s draw those lines in the sand for Christ.
