My Two Pumpkins
I think someone might’ve tried to out-do her sister
with her pumpkin costume.

“Working” @ the Fall ‘Vegetable’
The Fall ‘Vegetable’ went well although there were no vegetables but, rather, lots and lots of candy. I’m thinking if we’re going to call it the Fall ‘Vegetable’, perhaps we should have a few vegetables to celebrate the Harvest season. I guess that’s not at all what Sophie meant by Fall ‘Vegetable’.
We had a great time with the two Pumpkins while Courtney, Mercy and Kimberly worked so hard. Poor things. The Great Pumpkin, or should I say the Greater of the two Pumpkins had trouble keeping up. She just waddled along behind us. Maybe she should’ve been a Duck.
Our next destination was Meeka’s house. I’m totally clueless and forgot that trick-or-treaters would be out.
This is Sophie hiding behind Dad when a “scary” came up.
There were more “scary” costumes than I considered. Especially since I completely forgot that there would be trick-or-treaters. But Sophie seemed completely consoled by the candy. We accepted the fact that she just wasn’t going to eat any of Meeka’s chili and since a few crackers and candy didn’t seem right, we called for back-up and had Courtney and her friends pick up a Happy Meal. She ate a few bites but in her defense she got distracted several times running from “scarys”. Joe told her to eat another chicken nugget. As soon as he walked off, she threw her hands up like an exasperated mother, half rolled her eyes and sighed heavily.
And then she totally threw up as soon as we got home. A lot.
This really cool Hello Kitty marshmallow sucker that Nana Di bought her failed to bring her comfort the next day. I guess it was all fluff and no yummy.
But it was cute. It matched her jammies.
She did bounce back and managed to make up for the loss of candy she threw up the night before. And I think she got over the fact that she did not see Cooper at the Fall ‘Vegetable’. Sunday morning I mentioned that we either left before he arrived or maybe he just didn’t go. Joe asked her if she saw him.
“No,” she said, “he just had to go to his thing.”
“Oh, he called you and told you that or something,” Joe joked. (That’s funny—Joe joked. I’m so corny.)
“No.”
“He emailed you?”
“No.”
“Then how did you know,” I asked.
“He just give me a blog.”
Here he has a blog and I never knew. Wonder if he reads mine. That reminds me.
Look at Sophie’s first signature.
That would be the second one.
I’m so proud!
In other news, Sophie informed us that she now works at Carter’s—a local grocery store which just so happens to be Cammie’s former place of employment. But Sophie doesn’t work at the same location Cammie did. It’s not that I don’t believe her, but I did send a message to my friend from church. Her husband manages that particular Carter’s store and I just wouldn’t want him to get in trouble for child labor.
In spite of too much chocolate and not enough vegetables, all in all, it was a great night. Nana Di, Cammie and I had a great time cutting up though we don’t have pictures to share, and I got to see a friend I hadn’t seen in a great while. But the “greatest” news of all is that someone can tell Linus that he was right—The Great Pumpkin is real!

Greatest Pumpkin! LOL! (,: Sorry Cammie!!
I can’t believe she threw up! Doing a great job on that siggy.
Such a fun idea of Cami going as the great pumpkin! And I can’t believe Sophie can write her name! So impressed!
