yes there is such thing…i’ll never forget welcoming my niece into this world. i am sure it’s different for a grandma, but as an aunt she completely changed my life. i was in a rough relationship at the time and really wasn’t following any Godly direction. knowing Grace was coming, and being there for her arrival…well…He gave me someone to be a role model for. someone who would look up to me and it kicked my butt into gear to become a hard-working, dream-building person. *sigh* i’m so excited for you. this is a whole new adventure and so much different from having your own children (not that i know…but i hear that a lot). just be forwarned, rumor has it that everything you do or require of your children you won’t of your grandchild. i watch my mother instill this practice EVERY DAY with my niece…drives me nuts!! :)

Yes ma’am, there is no doubt that Love at First Sight exists! Thank you so much for sharing. I am very happy for your family :) Thank you for making me cry & smile and flashback to my own sono pics … seeing these bring back so many happy – anxious – exciting memories! p.s. I think you will be an awesome Mimi!

    Rena,

Congratulations to you on the expectant arrival of your grandchild! From personal experience I can tell you that even though the news of gaining that new title of “grandmother” can bring forth so many different emotions, this baby will be such a beautiful blessing not only to Mom and Dad, but to your life as well. Having a grandchild is so much fun! And while you won’t be as hard on this child as you would your own children, you will have as many expectations for him/her. The greatest thing, you get to sow into this child’s life from a very different position and as the grandmother you get to enjoy so much that we tend to miss with our own little ones…Your family is certainly in our prayers as we all welcome this wonderful new life into the world!
