I’m so glad that Joe and I caught the last half of The Miss USA Pageant last weekend.
Miss California, Carrie Prejean, answered Perez Hilton’s question regarding same-sex marriage with unwavering conviction. Sister, that answer may have cost you the crown for Miss USA 2009, but there is a greater crown laid up for you!
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:8 KJV
Carrie Prejean drew a line in the sand. As Christians, we all need to draw those clear lines and refuse to compromise the Word of Truth.
I recently found this awesome post at Quail and Manna by a local blogger that I happened to stumble upon over the weekend. Her name is Jennifer and she can also be found at More Than Just Adam’s Rib. I hope you’ll take a moment to check her out. Her recent post is a call for us to take a stand.
Let’s draw those lines in the sand for Christ.

Thanks for the link to my blog. I’m new at blogging and am learning, but it’s definitely been a burden on my heart to keep it up. I’ve enjoyed reading through your blog posts and plan to keep reading. Nice to meet you, too! Jennifer

EXACTLY!!! I totally agree. My husband and I were talking about this the other day. She may have lost the Miss USA crown, but she won a better prize.
Amen sister! Preach it!

Hello my friend!
Thank you for the link. It’s what I need to hear…. not enough Christians are saying this. We need to know what we need to do. And that is not be lukewarm. But STAND. Thanks again.
Warmly,
Your blogging buddy!

Rena, thank you for the sweet e-mail. What a lovely message to receive tonight. You have blessed and encouraged my heart.
This is a great post. We need to take a stand for Christ – unashamed and unafraid.
Blessings,

i was so proud of her and was appalled at how quickly people jumped down her throat for her honesty. did we expect her to lie? wouldn’t that in and of itself be against the integrity of what that pageant is all about? a clip was shown of perez’s video response on the o’reilly factor the other night and i just couldn’t believe that someone as “open-minded” as himself could be so close-minded to the differing opinions of others.
away from that tangent, the scripture couldn’t have said it any better; we have a judge who is more graceful and loving and honorable than any reality show judge out there…and i am okay with standing strong to my convictions. it’s a difficult thing to do in what appears to be a quickly turning anti-christian world, but i’ve never been one to go with the grain.

I saw that cute little thing on the Today show & was so proud of her for standing for her faith and even saying that she gave the Biblically correct answer as opposed to the politically correct answer.
Perez Hilton made me so mad I could spit. I can’t even wrap my brain around that kind of thinking. I’ve tried… but I just CAN’T!
Now, don’t lynch me here – I just have to add as a PS – I am in a daily fight with my 3 girls about modest dress – so I do wish Miss California had been a little less naked while drawing her line in the sand if she is going be held up as a Christian role model for our girls. (I know – you all hate me now!)
I’m a Believer!
